Valencia now has a date for its return to the forefront of international padel.

Valencia march 10. Marcos Robles / Padel Al Revés

The city will host a Premier Padel P1 tournament from June 6 to 14 at La Fonteta, an event that brings the Valencian capital back to the main calendar of the circuit and does so with strong public interest even before general ticket sales have opened.

During the official presentation of the event, held at La Petxina, institutions, organizers, and Valencian players all highlighted the importance of the world’s best padel returning to a city with tradition, passionate fans, and a significant role within both regional and national sport.

Tickets for Premier Padel Valencia will go on sale on March 19

One of the most anticipated announcements of the day was the ticket sales date. The organizers confirmed that general ticket sales will begin on March 19, Saint Joseph’s Day, a very significant date in Valencia.

In addition, members of the Padel Federation of the Valencian Community will have priority access. As Alfonso Monferrer explained, they will be able to purchase tickets starting March 13, a week before general sales open, and will also benefit from a discount.

Excitement is already evident in this first phase. During the event it was revealed that more than 2,000 people have already pre-registered with interest in purchasing tickets for the tournament.

La Fonteta, the stage for the return of top-level padel

The tournament will be played at the Fuente de San Luis Municipal Pavilion, La Fonteta, a well-known venue in Valencian sport and a facility that will once again take center stage on the international map thanks to this major event.

The choice of June, an unusual month for padel in Valencia, was explained as the solution found to create space for the city within the Premier Padel calendar. Organizers stressed that the goal is not just to host a one-off event, but to establish Valencia as a permanent venue within the circuit.

David Serrahima, representing Premier Padel, emphasized exactly this idea: the challenge now is to grow the tournament and turn it into a key reference on the calendar. Joan Cuscó, president of S2 Events, shared the same vision and argued that Valencia had more than enough reasons to return: the city, its fans, its clubs, the level of its players, and its international appeal.

Institutional support to place Valencia on the sporting map

The presentation clearly showed strong institutional support for the tournament. Among those attending were Rocío Gil, Sports Councillor of the Valencia City Council; Luis Cervera, Director General of Sport of the Valencian Government; and Pedro Antonio Cuesta, Provincial Deputy for Sports of the Valencia Provincial Council.

The City Council emphasized the importance of continuing to position Valencia as a city capable of hosting major international sporting events. The arrival of Premier Padel also forms part of a particularly strong sporting calendar for the city and the Valencian Community, which in recent months has hosted several other high-profile competitions.

The regional government linked the arrival of the tournament to the sustained growth of padel in the region and to the development work carried out in recent years together with the regional federation. In the same vein, the Provincial Council highlighted the tourism impact and the international exposure that an event of this level can generate.

Valencian players, one of the tournament’s main attractions

One thing became clear during the presentation: the local component will be one of the biggest strengths of the Valencia P1. The event brought together several well-known Valencian padel players, including Tamara Icardo, Edu Alonso, Álex Arroyo, Aída Martínez, Ksenia Sharifova, Mario Ortega, and Josete Rico.

They all agreed on one idea: playing at home has special value. The closeness, the atmosphere, and the support of fans who have already shown on many occasions how strongly they back players when competing in Valencia.

Tamara Icardo spoke about her emotional connection with the city and the extra motivation of competing in front of her home crowd. Edu Alonso and Álex Arroyo also highlighted the excitement of playing in front of family and friends, while Josete Rico pointed out the unique atmosphere created at La Fonteta and how that support is felt on court.

The presence of so many local players reinforces one of the key messages repeated during the event: Valencia doesn’t just host padel — it produces it.

The Valencian federation secures benefits for its members

Another important point of the presentation was the role played by the Padel Federation of the Valencian Community in bringing the tournament to the city. Alfonso Monferrer argued that an event like this should also serve to energize grassroots padel and reward licensed players.

That is why, in addition to early access, Valencian federation members will have better purchasing conditions than the general public. The aim is to take advantage of the tournament’s momentum to continue strengthening the regional padel structure.

Institutions also highlighted the growth of the sport in the region and the federation’s work in recent years in both licenses and the development of clubs and competitions.

A P1 tournament in a city with tradition and international appeal

The organizers also delivered another clear message: Valencia is not entering the calendar by chance. Joan Cuscó stated that the city has sporting level, tourism appeal, and the ability to attract fans from many countries.

During his speech, he even stated that the tournament could sell tickets in more than 80 countries, thanks to the international profile of the city.

Premier Padel is therefore arriving in a destination that combines a strong tradition in racket sports, a solid network of clubs, and an environment that fits perfectly with the profile of fans who follow the circuit around the world.

After the presentation, the message was clear: Valencia is returning to the highest level of padel — and it wants to stay there.
