Greenset Turns an Olympic Swimming Pool into a Padel Venue for Dubai P1

The Spanish company will install six courts at the Emaar Dubai Premier Padel P1, four of them above the Olympic swimming pool at Hamdan Sports Complex. All six will feature the Technic 360 model, designed to meet the demands of professional competition.

October 27, 2026. Six padel courts, four of them above an Olympic swimming pool. This is the unusual technical challenge facing Greenset at the Emaar Dubai Premier Padel P1, which will take place in November at Hamdan Sports Complex and bring together some of the world’s leading padel players.

The project will transform a venue originally designed for aquatic competitions into a setting ready to host professional padel. This conversion requires careful planning, close coordination and a highly precise installation process to meet the demands of a major international sporting event.

An extraordinary installation at Hamdan Sports Complex

Adapting the venue involves removing more than 6,250 cubic metres of water from the competition and diving pools, as well as deploying approximately 49,000 square metres of temporary infrastructure.

As part of this transformation, Greenset will be responsible for assembling and installing all six official tournament courts. Four will be positioned above the Olympic swimming pool, making the project a significant engineering and technical coordination challenge.

The Spanish company designs and manufactures its courts in Spain and carries out installation work using its own teams. Managing the entire process, from manufacturing to final assembly, allows Greenset to adapt each project to the characteristics of the venue and oversee the quality of its components.

The aim is to deliver facilities ready for professional competition, live spectators and the demands of international broadcasting.

Technic 360: technology designed for professional padel

All six courts installed in Dubai will feature Greenset’s Technic model, a 360 court designed for professional competition.

One of its key features is a design intended to provide a broad view of the game from different angles while strengthening the connection between players and spectators.

The model also incorporates Sonic Shield, Greenset’s acoustic technology developed to reduce the noise generated by ball impacts and help create a more controlled sound environment during matches.

In terms of materials and manufacturing processes, the project uses recyclable galvanised steel, automated painting processes and optimised logistics designed to reduce its environmental impact.

The installation is particularly demanding for the four courts positioned above the Olympic swimming pool, where precise assembly and quality control of every component are essential.

The resulting design aims to combine strength, lightness and functionality to meet the needs of an international competition attended by elite athletes and spectators and broadcast to audiences around the world.

Greenset strengthens its international presence

For Fernando Cánovas Llopis, Greenset’s managing director, the Dubai project is an opportunity to demonstrate the company’s ability to innovate and adapt to demanding technical conditions.

“Dubai is a perfect example of what we strive for at Greenset: innovation, precision and the ability to take on major technical challenges,” he says.

Cánovas highlights how installing six courts, four of them above an Olympic swimming pool, demonstrates the capabilities of the company’s engineering and its teams’ ability to adapt to unique conditions while maintaining the same quality standards.

He also believes that being the official court provider for the Emaar Dubai Premier Padel P1 will strengthen Greenset’s international presence and reaffirm its commitment to the global growth of padel.

Through this project, the Spanish company will help transform Hamdan Sports Complex into one of the notable venues on the international Premier Padel calendar in November.
