Alicante will bring together the world’s best junior padel players with the staging of the Promises Finals 2025, which will take place on the courts of Club Atlético Montemar from Friday, June 19 to Sunday, June 21. Manuel Villar, Councillor for Sports, stated this Monday during the presentation of the tournament that “the fusion of support for grassroots sport and the organization of major sporting events forms the backbone of this City Council’s strategy.”

Alfonso Monferrer, President of the Padel Federation of the Valencian Community, described the competition as “the flagship tournament for junior padel. It represents padel in its purest form, where you can clearly see how this sport will evolve in the future.” José Pedro García, President of Club Atlético Montemar, noted that “this tournament brings the celebrations of the club’s 50th anniversary to a close, following key milestones in recent weeks such as hosting the ATP Challenger tennis tournament and the Elche–Alicante International Marathon.”

Tournament Features

The eight best pairs ranked in the International Padel Federation (FIP) Junior Rankings, based on all tournaments played worldwide, will compete in Alicante in both the men’s and women’s categories (Under-12, Under-14, Under-16 and Under-18). The eight pairs in each category will be divided into two groups of four following a draw to be held midweek.

Each group will play a round-robin of three matches (Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon). The top two pairs from each group will advance to the semifinals on Sunday morning, with the finals taking place on Sunday afternoon.

All eight courts hosting matches on Saturday and Sunday will feature live streaming via the FIP’s YouTube channel. In addition to Spanish athletes — including Tello Buitrón and Ornella Beltramino, who attended the tournament presentation on Monday — players from Portugal, France, Italy, Argentina, Belgium, Sweden, Chile, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the United States will also compete in Alicante.

It is expected that more than 500 people, including players, coaches, and family members, will travel to Alicante over the weekend, staying for three nights in local hotels on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. “This will provide another clear example of how using sporting competitions to reduce tourism seasonality is working,” Villar
