Hexagon World Series and the International Padel Federation announce GENERALI Hexagon Cup Madrid as their inaugural event and first tournament of 2027

  • The first official Hexagon World Series event will take place from January 21–24, 2027
  • Caja Mágica will host GENERALI Hexagon Cup for the second consecutive year
  • The remaining international events that will complete the 2027 Hexagon World Series calendar will be announced in the coming months
  • GENERALI will once again be the event’s main sponsor for the second consecutive year

The first official event of Hexagon World Series (HWS) will be the GENERALI Hexagon Cup Madrid, taking place from January 21–24, 2027.

The tournament will return to Madrid’s iconic Caja Mágica, marking the beginning of a new era for padel as the first official event of the new professional team competition.

Madrid will therefore open the 2027 international padel season with an event that will once again bring together the world’s best male and female players, along with teams and owners from the international worlds of sport and entertainment, while maintaining the identity that has accompanied Hexagon Cup since its creation in 2023 under the motto:

“For the Fans. For the Players. For the Game.”

The 2027 edition will have particular significance as it becomes the starting point of Hexagon World Series, the new professional team padel circuit governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP) and developed as the evolution of the model created by Hexagon Cup.

The international scale and ambition of Hexagon World Series, together with the work required to build a solid and sustainable structure across different markets, has led the organization to move the official launch of the competition to January 2027 and revise the calendar initially planned for 2026.

Over recent months, Hexagon, together with 54, FIP, Premier Padel and its other stakeholders, has continued working on the sporting, operational and commercial development of the project.

This additional period will allow Hexagon World Series to further strengthen its foundations ahead of its international launch.

As the city where the Hexagon Cup journey began, Madrid will be the starting point of the inaugural Hexagon World Series season. GENERALI will once again be the main sponsor, while Madrid will remain one of the key destinations of this new era.

Further details regarding the teams, players and calendar expansion will be announced over the coming months, including the new international destinations already identified that will complete the 2027 calendar.

The reduction from five to four days of competition reflects an update to the event format for the upcoming season. Further sporting details will be announced in the coming weeks.

Sergio Lewin, Co-Founder and Operations & Sporting Managing Director of Hexagon Cup, said:

“We are delighted that Madrid will be the beginning of this new adventure. Hexagon World Series represents a very ambitious evolution of what we started with Hexagon Cup. Building an international circuit of this scale requires time, a solid structure and the coordination of many different stakeholders. Madrid is where it all began, and we believe there could be no better setting to officially launch this new chapter in January 2027.”
