Doha to Host the 2026 & 2028 FIP World Cup as Padel reaches a historic new milestone

The 2026 and 2028 FIP World Cup, the most prestigious international competition for national teams in padel, will be held in Doha, Qatar.

The 2026 edition will take place from November 2 to 7 at the prestigious Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, home of the Qatar Major Premier Padel since 2022 and the venue that hosted the most recent FIP World Championship.

The tournament will feature record-breaking prize money of €1.2 million in 2026, increasing to €1.35 million in 2028. The prize fund will be distributed equally between the men’s and women’s competitions, making it the largest prize purse ever awarded in the history of padel.

The International Padel Federation (FIP) and the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation are proud to announce Doha, Qatar, as the host city for the 2026 and 2028 FIP World Cup, the sport’s premier international team competition.

Both editions will be staged at the iconic Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex, a venue that has hosted some of the world’s most prestigious padel events in recent years, including the Qatar Major Premier Padel on four occasions and the latest FIP World Championship, firmly establishing itself as one of the sport’s benchmark venues.

Held every two years, the FIP’s flagship event will bring together 16 men’s national teams and 16 women’s national teams, all competing for the world title. As confirmed in the official FIP calendar, the 2026 edition will take place from November 2 to November 7.

The decision to award the 2026 and 2028 FIP World Cup to Doha was based on several key factors, including the outstanding quality of its sporting infrastructure, excellent conditions for athletes and national delegations, proven experience in organizing major international sporting events, high safety standards, strong financial guarantees, and Qatar’s remarkable sporting legacy built over recent years.

Another milestone highlighting the growth and ambition of the FIP World Cup is its unprecedented prize money, which will be distributed equally between the men’s and women’s competitions.

The 2026 edition will offer a record €1.2 million prize fund, increasing to €1.35 million in 2028, making it the highest prize money ever awarded in an official padel competition. This underlines the commitment of both the FIP and the Qatar Federation to further elevate the prestige of the tournament while providing the highest level of competition for national teams.

Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation, said:

“Awarding the 2026 and 2028 FIP World Cup to Doha is a decision that looks towards the future of our sport.
