World’s top padel players face-off against fans to mark Premier Padel P1 London arriving in the capital this summer

Premier Padel P1 will make its UK debut in London in August 2026 as part of a multi-year partnership between Sela and Premier Padel P1.

Wednesday 11th March, London, UK – Yesterday top padel players Ariana Sánchez (No. 3), Alejandra Salazar (No. 12) and Lucas Campagnolo (No. 25) took to North London courts to play celebrity padel enthusiasts, including Traitors winner Harry Clark, Love Island star Luca Bish and ex-Tottenham Hotspur and England striker Darren Bent, as the UK gets ready to host major padel tournament later this year.

In a summer packed with sport, Premier Padel P1 will debut from 3rd-9th August 2026 in London as part of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour, giving UK fans the chance to watch the world’s elite men’s and women’s players live in action for the first time. The global tour also plays a key role in the sport’s international growth and long-term ambition to become an Olympic discipline through the International Padel Federation.

Sela will deliver the event in collaboration with Premier Padel, with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) supporting the launch as part of its wider commitment to the development of padel in the UK. The London tournament underscores a joint ambition to establish padel as an elite spectator sport in the UK.

The introduction of elite-level competition to the UK seeks to build padel fandom, inspire the next generation of players in a new market and strengthen the sport’s professional pathway throughout Britain.

The LTA are due to release participation figures shortly but there are now over three quarters of a million padel players in Britain, as the UK aims to turn the boom in interest into long-term participation by making the sport more accessible for all.

In line with this commitment to accessibility, as event delivery partner, Sela will be offering tickets to watch Premier Padel London for under-16s at accessible price points.

Former Premier League football star, Darren Bent, said:

“Padel is my favourite sport to play, it’s a great way to get out, socialise and be active with mates. I’ve loved every minute of today, getting to play against the best in the world! I’m so excited to see padel come to the London and I’ll definitely be trying to grab tickets to go this August to the London Premier Padel P1.”

Ariana Sánchez, FIP World Champion & World Number 3 said:

“I’ve really enjoyed playing here in London today and I’m now even more excited to compete in front of British crowds for the first time. London is an amazing city with an amazing atmosphere and lots of padel fans. I’ve had my own experience playing in front of a home crowd on the Premier Padel circuit so I’m super happy that British players will now have the same chance. Hopefully the London Premier Padel P1 tournament can help bring in more fans and get more people inspired to pick up a racket.”
